Ethical and Professional Responsibility in SEE for Future Generations
Abstract: In the rapidly evolving fields of science and engineering, fostering ethical and professional responsibility among students is crucial for sustainable and impactful development. This workshop aims to explore the integration of ethical principles and professional standards into science and engineering education, preparing future generations to navigate the complexities of modern innovation responsibly. We will examine the critical role that ethics and integrity, autonomy, communication, teamwork, and leadership play in shaping competent and conscientious professionals. By incorporating these transversal skills alongside traditional technical knowledge, we can better equip students to address global challenges with a holistic and ethical perspective. Through interactive discussions and case studies, participants will gain insights into effective pedagogical strategies and curricular designs that promote ethical and professional responsibility. This workshop will also highlight the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to foster environments that support ethical decision-making and innovation.
Join us as we delve into the essential components of educating future scientists and engineers, ensuring they are not only technically proficient but also ethically responsible leaders in their fields.
